I have enjoyed Brewery Bar with friends and family for many years! I was excited when I found out I no longer had to drive down to Kalamath for a great rellano! I live in and love the suburbs but that means heading into the city for good eats.... Thank you for bringing the good eats to burbs for a change!

We went here after horseback riding in Cherry Creek. It was reasonably priced, the service was very good and the food was OK. No real complaints, it's perfectly average. It's very much set up like an Applebees or Chili's. There is a large bar in the center of the dining room. The decor is basic. It does not come across as "fine" Mexican dining. We don't live nearby and wouldn't take the drive out there to eat again.

Here I go again, reviewing Mexican food. What can I say? I know what I like and I like Mexican food. I went here for lunch today with my mom and brother. Mom and I both ordered the #6, which included a cheese enchilada and a chile relleno. I've been told for YEARS that this place has the best rellenos in town. Meh. They're good, but they aren't any better than some place like 3 Margaritas. The enchilada was also good, but not too special. The sauce wasn't too acidic, which is always a good thing for a heartburn-prone gal like myself. I'm also a fan of not having rice on my plate. I hate Mexican rice because it is always, always dry. I see it as a waste of stomach space and I avoid it. The beans here were yummy, though! I wanted to eat all of them, but I was too full. Sad day. I think where Brewery Bar shines is in the green chile. Wow. So good. If you order the half-and-half you get just the right amount of spice and flavor. My mom is bold and orders the spicy which she puts away with no problem. I'm sure I wouldn't mind the heat as I love spicy food, but I have that heartburn issue. But, yeah, the medium is perfect. And there's so much pork! I die over a good pork green chile, and this place has it. Another highlight? The margaritas!!!! I loved mine. It was amazing. The end. So, this pace is good. If I'm in the area I will definitely stop in again. Our service wasn't that great, but oh well. It wasn't terrible enough to piss me off. And like I said, that green chile!!!

It takes a lot for me to REALLY not like something, but I will tell you now...don't waste your money and time. When we arrived, a group of five was ahead of us. The hostess totally disappeared for a very long while, then came back with chips and salsa for an empty table and THEN sat the people ahead of us. We thought, ok, a little backwards, but whatever. Then the VERY slow waiter we had, took our drink order. Literally 10 minutes later we finally got a regular margarita and a couple waters. We noticed the waiter was always gone, but when he would appear he'd have a tray FULL of stuff to deliver. If you really are that lazy, you're in the wrong business. The whole time we were there, there was hardly anyone in the whole restaurant. If the food was better and it was super busy, we'd been more forgiving. I just hope they can improve on their service at least. We will not be back.

The absolute single worst meal I've ever had. Let's break it down: * shabby interior - check * uninterested staff - check * Tostitos bag for the table - check * long delay and wait for ordering - check * hour plus wait for food with no one in the restaurant - check * horrible food - check * velveeta in the food - check We watched the staff just hang out at the bar without talking to us and or doing anything. They were annoyed to be dealing with us and every part of the experience was terrible. I will NEVER, EVER return. HORRIBLE, avoid like plague!

  • Trint L.

This chips are decidedly Tostitos, but I like them. The salsa is... meh, not bad. I've had worse. The fajitas were sadly under-seasoned, but I've yet to find real fajitas in Denver. Ample sides and good guacamole saved the dish. The service was very slow for 5:30 Wednesday night. It's not like the place was crowded. The live music was... interesting. You don't usually get Neil Diamond's greatest hits at a Mexican joint. I'd eat here if I had to, but not by choice.

The only positive point to our experience was the sweet old man singing songs by the bar. We ordered a margarita that was smaller than explained to us and the guacamole appetizer was just smashed avacado. We were waiting to ask our waitress if maybe we didn't get finished guac but Anberlain didn't check on us for over 30min and we saw her using her phone multiple times. Never coming back here again. So disappointed.

Our family loves Brewery Bar. The food is good and fast, service is great and the Green Chili is just the best around. My favorites are the Breakfast burrito, Chili Relleno or when I am really hungry the #1 special. The mild green chili is very flavorful. The hot will make you sweat, and then they also will mix the two to make a half and half. All of them are awesome, so just depends on your heat index. :) We come here a few times a month and are always satisfied, and my girls love it too. Great family place.

Really enjoyed the chips and salsa to start. It was kids eat free on Tuesday night which is always a bonus! I had the chili relleno and burrito and they were both delicious. Will definitely go back!

Arrived at 9pm on a Friday and they were shutting down the main seating area. Had a group of 8 -10 adults and the same in kids but they seated us and said no problem. It took 45 minutes to get our food - all of which was cold and less than wonderful. The servers all appeared less than happy to have us there - which is why they should have turned us away. When the bills came we complained and asked for a discount due to the extended wait time and cold food. This just made them dislike us more but did give us all a 20% discount. However at this point they added a 20% mandatory gratuity to the bill which was not there before. Nice way to treat customers. I've been told they can't do that anymore but by this time it's almost 11pm and I want to get the hell out of there. Bad food bad service bad attitudes. Last time they ever get my business and maybe you will think twice as well. There are much better run places to frequent that actually appreciate customers. Hasty Lavista Brewery Bar!

I loved the food and the host was very kind and very attractive! He seated us quickly and the food was hot and fresh! Would defiantly recommend to any Mexican food lover! Except the theme of the restaurant is kind of odd. The decorations were random and showed no significance to Mexican culture!

Its o.k Mexicanish food for cheap.

My first Chili Rellenos and green chili experience WOW - YUM! I still don't know what Chili Rellenos is but I will order it again. I got it with 1/2 hot, 1/2 mild green chili and that chili was cheesy, sauce-y and delicious. I ordered one of the combos with three items and that was a ton of food. We went on a Sunday and they had a ton of specials, we got a few pitchers of beer for $6.99 - it wasn't too crowded and has a cute ambience, I enjoyed it! Chili Rellenos & green chili ++++++++++

I don't know what was worse, the food or the service. The chicken in my chimichanga was disgustingly dry, so much so that I couldn't eat the rest. People at my table barely ate their meal too. Our service was terrible and the server often forgot things. Chips and salsa were what I could get at home. Personally, I go out to Mexican restaurants for the homemade chips and salsa, not to eat tostitos and pace. Yuck. Try the many other Mexican restaurants in the area. They are much better. I'm not sure how these guys stay in business.

Summary: 6:32pm : arrived, sat down at the bar 6:34pm : bartender said hi, took drink order. She asked if I wanted a menu, which I did ask for and did receive immediately. 6:35pm : drink served 6:42pm : food order taken from 3 persons immediately to my right. No offer to take my order. 6:50pm : finished drink - empty glass in front of me. Both bartenders walked by without acknowledgement...twice...each. 7:02pm : food served to 3 persons to my right 7:05pm : bartender asks if I would like another drink. Still no offer to take my order. Closed tab and departed. Absolutely unacceptable. Note: the bar was at approx 50% occupancy.

Oh my word. So many bad reviews here, that I have to chime in with mine. So, before coming to this place I had already had it set in my mind that I was gonna hate this place. I almost tried to change my coworkers' minds to another place, I was that scared! There is one dish they serve here that blew my mind, and has continued to over and over again: The stuffed chicken chile relleno with hot green chile. I'm SO picky about Mexican food and green chile in general, but I was so impressed with this dish that I've gone back over and over to order the same thing. The green chile- even though it has pork chunks (which I hate), was delish and the right amount of heat without being too overbearing. The chicken is very flavorful and I hate to say this word but moist too (shudder). The service- always stellar and friendly though my trips are limited to the lunch rush. I do, however, think the chips and salsa could be worlds better. The chips are similar to the $1 bag kind you get at Wal-Mart and the salsa is similar to marinara sauce. But I will overlook that for the delicious chile rellenos with green chile! They have daily specials- def check out their website for details.

Just walked out of this place because we didn't learn our lesson the first time. Management, there is no need for us to have waited 10 minutes to be seated and another 15 to get a drink. The place is less than half full and not a wait person in sight. Please staff your establishment accordingly and you won't have these terrible service issues. The food is edible but far from good. This place has so much potential but it's as if management has given up. Luckily there is a hacienda close by to salvage our night.

Not even a brewery! Only commercial beer. And the food is very disappointing. The staff was friendly though.

Came in for lunch on a Sunday and hadn't been here for a few years. I remembered the restaurant as busy and had great food. Boy how things have changed. Unfriendly staff overlooked multiple attempts to get their attention. Food came out undercooked and with one tortilla never came back to see how we were doing and again literally ignored my attempts to get more. To their credit the manager discounted our meal. With all of the other choices near by we will not return

After all the hype suggesting this place has the best green Chile in Colorado... this place was a let down. The chips and salsa were great and the experience stops there. I was there for lunch, so I am sure the bar crowd was a bit better for happy hour. I am still searching for good Mexican in Colorado...

The only reason this review is getting 2 stars is because the food was delicious. Party of 4. We came into the restaurant at 12:18 and we promptly sat. We continued to sit for 10 mins with no acknowledgement not even a "I'll be right with you" there was only 5 other tables in the dining room and 2 on the patio. The host after 14 mins brought out complimentary chips and salsa. I then asked if we had a server in this section. He said "she'll be right with you" After another 2 minutes our server Teri came by for a drink order which took 6 minutes to come out...... 3 waters and a nice tea.... Also she forgot 1 water. We finally were able to order our food which came out hot and delicious, compliments to the kitchen. We were enjoying our meal and a member of my party ordered a beer which after 15 mins went by she asked our server if it was coming and she had forgotten it. We were very patient this whole time and when it came to the check out server gave us the check and it took another 7 mins to get payment. Worst experience here ever. I don't know what the issue here was but this was just unacceptable. I'm in the service industry myself and honestly this review would have never been written if we were acknowledged when we were sat instead of having our server walk by 3 or 4 times without saying hi. We will return because I feel like this is an isolated incident but they really need to get it together, I can't imagine if it was busy.

Love this place; 9 outta 10 times service is great and the food crushes the other S. Denver Mexican joints. Don't tell anyone it is called Brewery Bar... If the changed the name it would be packed......

Service is always friendly and speedy. A fun vibe always in the restaurant. I've been enjoying the number 1 combo for years and it's the best. The BEST green chili in town!!! Great Mexican food and awesome staff!

Last time me and my husband attempted to stop in mid-afternoon, the place had 2 tables of patrons and a handful of people at the bar. We sat ourselves (as the sign indicated) and watched as the waitress ate food at the bar and the bartender alternated between playing with her phone and talking to the waitress. After 10 minutes of being ignored we bailed. I've gone to this place quite a bit, suffice to say this location always ends up subpar in comparison to the VI location on Parker. The food is ok. I don't get anything other than the half/half chili anymore, since the last time I ordered cheese enchiladas, the cheese was literally cold and unmelted inside. It's cheap compared to everything else in the area, but it seems worth it to pay a couple extra dollars an entree to at least have your food cooked. If you dig their menu at other chains, I'd suggest avoiding this location.

Went to Park Meadows to do a couple holiday returns and stumbled across Brewery Bar when searching for Mexican food close by. They were really busy and kids every where - for a place that looked like more of what the names says (Bar) than it's Mexican menu would imply. Green Chili was good, Burrito was about same as expected. Margarita was more of a Bar item rather than a compliment to our meals. Figured ordering more than just the House would have been better, but was not.

It's been a looooooooooooooooooooooooong time since I came across a Mexican food meal I found inedible. Was on a "try something new" vibe when I decided to stop here with the family instead of someplace trusted. Firstly, let me give credit where it is due and say the service was fine if not great. The food, however, deserves to be shamed. Didn't want to get to risky and ordered a simple No. 5 combo consisting of cheese enchilada, bean burrito and taco with medium chile. I took one bite of each and set my plate aside. The cheese enchilada was so dated, it tasted like a hard slice of cheese in a corn tortilla. The beans in the burrito were so stale and old they were actually hard. Whatever they decided to smother both with tasted exactly like the salsa that came with the chips. The taco was almost completely full of some sort of meat with a bit of cheese on top. I'm in shock these people are able to run multiple locations with such terrible food quality. Especially considering how EASY it is to make even average Mexican food. These people need to go back to the roots that gave them the opportunity to open multiple locations in the first place. Or go to any place along federal and hire away some decent cooks.

This place used to be to die for. Last few times in we keep swearing it off but close to home & think maybe it was just a bad night. The meat is not seasoned. The steak fajitas were tough. What has happened to one of our old favs. Taste like everything comes out of the microwave instead of prepared fresh for you. Service has gone down hill as well. Also some people like wine even at a Mexican restaurant. The merlot is awful. Even if you just carry one kind of red & white wine, get a good one. Not everyone wants a beer or a marg.

Repeat after me: "Mexican Burger, 14oz Draft. $6.99!" Hawt, Hot, Saturday jaunt to visit my sister in the Ranch of Highlands, followed by power shopping Park Meadows for a jacket. We needed sustenance & fast! I took gf for a tour of The Ranch, ending up in the Lone Tree Entertainment District. "BB III works?" "Sure!" We saw the Saturday special, and didn't look any further. It was so big we could have split one. I had mine with 1/2 & 1/2 green, very spicy, and a 90 Shilling. GF had the Tecate. It hit the spot & fortified us for the required shopping ahead.

We consider ourselves regulars of BBIII. We often come for Margarita Mondays, Fajita Fridays (both menu items are amazing) and create our own tipsy movie day any day of the week! The chile verde is not on the menu but is the more traditional green chile and is extremely tasty!

I dissed this fav place in August as it was definately heading south as a restaurant. Gave it another chance today, 11/29/14 and sanity has been restored. Frozen Mags excellent. Food very good. Service, excellent. Nice come back! s

About the only positives are the convenient location and strong margarita. I had the chili rellenos and guacamole tostada. Tostada was soggy, relleno just wasn't the best I've had. Chips from grocery store!! Tacos looked like taco bell tacos. Service was less that proficient Cant tell you one memorable thing about the place. Sorry but we wont be visiting this establishment again!!

Grabbed lunch here the other day because a coworker recommended it. It was pretty good. I had a combination plate with a tamale, enchiladas and a taco. Tamale was excellent, enchiladas pretty good, taco just so-so. They have a bunch of different types of red and green chile, so you can get it just how you want it. The service wasn't quite up to par for me though. A little slow, and the waitress seemed to have to come back and ask a lot of questions. The ambience is very much a bar, lots of sports on tv around. Seems like it'd be a good place to hang out and watch a game.

  • Patty N.

The 1/2 and 1/2 green chile was awesome. Question for the people with bad reviews: where do you go for better in the area?

Tostitos, pace salsa and Kraft cheese. This is an insult to fine Mexican cuisine. What a waste of time and money.

Food average at best, service is poor. The ran out of chips for salsa. Much better Mexican in the area. Stay away from this place if at all possible.

Horrible! This place used to be fairly decent until tonight. My husband found a hair in his food and the manager's excuse was (feeble excuse #1), "I eat tamales here all the time and that is a corn husk fiber" and then proceeded to stick her finger in his meal. My husband has been eating tamales since before this poor excuse for a manager was even born and he knows what corn husk fiber looks like and it certainly does not look like a long, brownish-red, curly hair. In addition to that, I ordered a SOFT shrimp taco, they brought a hard shrimp taco. I said I would eat it, but couldn't get past the taste of "salt lick". The shrimp was so salty, it was inedible. When I mentioned this, the manager's excuse (feeble excuse #2) was that different cooks prepare it different ways. Seriously?! Your food should remain consistent from cook to cook. Honestly, we weren't trying to get a free meal, just a decent tasting one. She was obviously promoted for her looks and not brains as she had absolutely zero customer service skills or problem resolution skills. She didn't even apologize for her restaurant's lame attempt at a meal. Hard earned money wasted, but, carpe diem. We made the choice to dine here, but now we are making the choice to never go back. Adios, Brewery Bile...yes, I said bile.

When my boyfriend said this is a "Restaurant Impossible" (Food Network Makeover TV Show) right when we walked in, I knew we should have gone elsewhere. I went here on a friday night, the host had an attitude. The chips for the chips and salsa are not homemade, Tostitos. Then we get our food. I get a shredded beef burrito. The sauce was very runny, not thickness to it. Plus you have to add Rice & Beans, Sour Cream, and Tomatoes to make it a true burrito, for an extra charge. The Strawberry Margarita had the cheapest tequila on earth, I had to add extra sugar packets to sweeten it up and to hide the bad aftertaste. Lastly, my boyfriend told me after we left he saw ants in the restaurant. Best believe I will never eat here again!!

  • Ray B.

Meh. This place isn't bad, but it isn't good. Nothing remarkable about it, it's just there. The service was okay, the food wasn't bad, the environment wasn't bad. But nothing was overwhelmingly good. It's there, the prices are okay, and the food was fine. Again, I say "Meh."

We absolutely LOVE this place!! My 3 year old often asks me if we can go to the "Brewerly Bar" to have chips and beans! Service is fantastic, Bronco games are amazing, Suzy is the best ever! Thanks!!

Great food! Fast friendly service. I am a regular and eat here a couple times per week. Best hot green chili in Denver. Love the friendly wait staff and bartenders too.

  • Jamie M.

I wish I could give this place more stars. This used to be one of my favorite places to go but unfortunately over the past year or so the service has really tanked. Nearly every time I'm gone recently my order has been completely messed up. The last time I ordered it to go (several months back) I ordered a chicken burrito and they completely left the chicken out. To my dismay I didn't realize until I was already back at work and ended up having to be a rabbit for the day as eat just the lettuce and cheese they actually put in the burrito. Not sure how you goof that bad in the kitchen. That being said they were very accommodating when I came back and explained the bad service and they comped my next meal. Focus cooks! focus!!

  • Melissa S.

Good food - why all the bad reviews? Brewery bar has long been a standard in the Denver mexican food community. While they do tend to overprice the drinks and sides of guac and sour cream, the varietys of chili and excellent mini rellenos app make this a family favorite. Give this place a try - I think you'll be plesently surprised!

    (4)
  • DavidDavid M.

This place is horrible (food wise). I am not kidding in the fact that the chicken tastes like canned chicken! I had Chicken Enchiladas and my wife had a Mexican Pizza and she said the Mexican Pizza at Taco Bell is better. Did I tell you I think that they serve canned chicken! YUCK! Never go to a Mexican restaurant that goes by the name Brewery Bar.

    (1)
  • Eric S.

The Chili Rellenos are good. The waitress was good. The hostess was rude. The food is overpriced. The chips and salsa are as bad as everyone else has stated. The chips are those round ones you'd see in movie theater nachos. The salsa tasted like it had ketchup in it. I don't think I'll ever be back.

  • Mikael R.

Sad that there are so many bad reviews. We are regulars, and for good reason. They have the best green chili in town bar none. If that's not enough reason to come in, the bartenders are always friendly, and drink specials are always good.

  • Anita S.

I wish I'd have taken a look at the previous reviews. I was a fan of the Brewery bar on Kalamath and thought this one would be the same. That was really wishful thinking on my part. The staff was also sitting at the bar when we walked in and didn't rush to get up. We almost left thinking the place was closed. Unfortunately, all the sauces taste the same and everything can come smothered with the same sauce or not. Careful!!!! The hot is HOT! The only reason I'd return is if I had a major cold and needed the chili to make my nose run.

Probably won't be back.. Yeah I'm pretty sure. We had dinner there last night just to try it out. I don't think anyone in our group of 3 finished what we ordered. Let me say that I know Mexican restaurants and good Mexican food. We do go for Mexican as much as we go out for pizza. Atmosphere was horrible. Mediocre guitar guy playing cover tunes and Budweiser banners everywhere...Sigh. Service was really slow and for Mex food that is really sad. I was surprised at how long our wait was and how slow to check in on us. I usually check out a mex restaurant by ordering one of three items.Chimichanga, fish taco or enchilada. I went for the fish taco. I must disclose that I make a rocking fish taco myself and know what makes it great. The mahi mahi on the taco was okay. My biggest issue was the low grade cheese and worse still no lime. Fish tacos should ALWAYS have a slice of lime on the side!!!! (Heck..even wahoo's knows that.) Not only was the cheese on the taco a weird and unnatural color...It was flavorless and added nothing to the taco but bulk. When I asked for lime I had to wait for 5 minutes for them to arrive... browned tiny limes that were pretty dried out and useless. Like someone was cutting corners. again (sigh) My wife loves a good releno as well..Despite the hype her's contained the same mystery cheese as my taco. Just not quality food. Good thing we had our coupon..We cut our losses by $6 (Maybe that should have been our tip off.. Maybe I should have checked them out on Yelp first) to quote my wife " Cassa Bonita has better mex food than this." and we all know how bad that is. YUCK.

Last night I had my first experience at a Brewery Bar restaurant. Prior to our second childbirth class, my wife and I stopped in at Brewery Bar III for a quick meal. I already knew that the restaurant wasn't a brewery at all, but a local chain of Mexican restaurants. Apparently the first in the chain of restaurants was inside the old Tivoli Brewery in downtown Denver. With that bit of knowledge the name makes a little more sense. After reading that the margaritas were on special, I decided that I had to try one. I wasn't given an option to have salt on the rim, but happily mine came served that way anyway. The drink was good. I wish the same could be said for the chips and salsa. The chips are obviously not fresh prepared, and I'm not sure if the salsa is either. It could have easily come right out of a jar. If it was in a jar, it would have been labeled spicy. Perhaps the spiciness was the only redeeming character. At this point I wasn't expecting much from the meal. I decided to try the special of the day, which was three tacos and a margarita for only $8.95. I had already ordered the margarita for the happy hour price of $4, so this was an easy choice. I was given the option of having hard or soft tacos, as well as either beef or chicken. I went with chicken soft tacos. At this price I wasn't expecting too much, especially after the chips and salsa tasting. Unfortunately my expectations were met. The tacos were very plain, though I added some taco sauce which did help some. Still they were filling and very cheap. The redeeming dish of the night was what my wife ordered, the Combo 1 featuring a crisp chili relleno and a smothered chicken burrito. She choose to have it all smothered in both hot and mild green chili. The hot green chili was definitely hot, but was by far my highlight of the meal. The chili relleno was also very delicious. The smothered chicken burrito was as to be expected, but also hit the spot with the addition of green chili. Green chili makes everything better. If we decide to eat here again I will be sure to try dishes that are served with their selection of chilis.

After enjoying the food here and being a loyal patron and frequent diner for nearly 10 years, I have zero intent of ever going back after today. I experienced the rudest, most unprofessional display of customer service from the hostess.....I barely have the words. I asked for a booth in the bar; when she tried seating me next to a booth with a child, I simply (and politely) asked for another table away from children. Not that I should have to explain myself, but I was having a meeting with someone where we would be discussing business, personal, and private conversations. She actually started arguing with me, telling me that the child was not misbehaving, then threw the menus on another booth nearby. When I asked if there was a problem, she simply walked away and left me standing there. It was early afternoon, and nearly the entire rest of the bar was open for seating. All she had to do was ask what other table I would like, as again, there were plenty to choose from. I do not need a lecture about the child's behavior, or judged on why we didn't want to sit next to said child. Bottom line is - YOU DO NOT ARGUE WITH A CUSTOMER, especially when I hadn't made it out to be a big deal at all. It was a very, very, simple request. When I brought it to the manager's attention, she immediately started justifying the hostess' behavior by stating she was new. IS THAT AN EXCUSE FOR BEING COMPLETELY CONFRONTATIONAL WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS?? I urge you to speak with the manager if you are EVER treated this rudely by the hostess there. I for one will make sure that my friends and family know not to return to this restaurant as long as this hostess is employed there. Plenty of other Mexican restaurants to choose from.....

Wow...I'm feeling like those who are giving this place one star have a "chip" on their shoulder. This place is really good! They have a wonderful variety of food. I can't say I would order their fish tacos. Their more of a standard fare type Mexican restaurant. Their margs are cold and well made. I believe their salsa is fresh. Can't say the chips are memorable but feel that those who have dubbed them Tostito's probably have a bag of them in their pantry at home and have no problem eating them there. I've never had bad service or food here. I've always felt welcome and will go back for sure. It's a great little family place.

I have to say it is crazy to read all the bad reviews here!!! I've been coming to Brewery Bar in general since I was 5! Brewery Bar III since it opened! I feel I have to correct a few things, they have wi-fi, and take reservations as I have made one before. Also this pace picante stuff is just silly! They make it every morning in the restaurant! The chili rellenos are the best I have EVER had! The chili is delicious as well! I lilke it hot so it's always a must for me! The service is always quick and friendly, if you're looking for a place that will make you wait twenty minutes for your food this place is not it! They have a great gluten free menu which is very hard to find. I will return again and agian, it is simply the best there is!

I've been here a couple times now while in town for business. It's a place that can't decide if it's a restaurant or a bar. But, aside from the distracting beer banners and neon signs, the food is really good. And the staff was decent. If you're in town on for business or just want a no-frills, really good Mexican food, this is the place.

Wow, what truly horrible food. I have been racking my brain and just can't seem to come up with a worse Mexican food experience. Maybe Casa Bonita? Maybe. And, let me qualify that statement, I've been extremely unimpressed with the Mexican food in Colorado (being from CA). And, to say that this is the worst is really saying something. Whoever voted their Chile Relleno's the "Best in Denver" has obviously never had a Chile Relleno in their life. Oh, and don't even get me started on my $4 taco (grocery store shell, soggy little pile of shredded beef, and a salad worth of lettuce to fill up the shell). I will take Taco Bell over this place any time. Note to chef: A bottle of red Pace & a couple chunks of pork does not Green Chile make!!!! And, what in the hell is up with the 9:30pm last call on a Thursday night? Seriously? The only pros (and maybe they just seemed like pros since the experience overall was so bad): they have a really big beer called a "tiny" (not that they have much on tap that I am interested in consuming that much of) and when I complained about the early-ass last call and we mentioned we were celebrating a friend's achievement, the bartender said he would give us a round of free shots (but only if we would drink nasty-ass well tequila, no thanks!)

Not sure why the reviews are so low :( ?? I love Brewery Bar II & I. The green chile is pretty good (albeit not the best but good). The chile rellenos are TO DIE FOR. He chips & salsa is yummy (however, the salsa is very mild & would be much better spicier). The fajitas are just ok (the best I've had are @ The Platte River Grill believe it or not). The burritos are solid- good, not amazing. The frozen margaritas are also TO DIE FOR & I usually do NOT like frozen margarita versions. They are not icy but somehow really creamy & smooth & STRONG. I also love the regular margs but prefer the frozen here. Order a frozen marg, chile rellenos smothered in green chile & you will not be disappointed. Service is great there, especially sitting @ the bar.

The chips and salsa are bad- they taste like they are from a generic bag from a grocery store, which is a bummer because the rest of their food is very good. Fajitas are great, tacos are great, even the french fries are great. If youre going for drinks and chips, don't, but if you are going for a nice meal, it is worth it.

Excellent food. Divey atmosphere. The food was fabulous for everyone in our party of six. Fresh ingredients, flavorful (and HOT!) sauces! However, because we arrived after 9 on a Friday we had to seat ourselves in the bar and muscle through the most pathetic Jimmy Buffet-y "duet" to karaoke music and the table full of drunkards behind us was obnoxious through the entire meal. If you go, go BEFORE 9 on a weeknight.

Won't be going back. Burrito was a soggy tortilla stuffed with super dry chicken (no other fillings), the chips are honest to God just Tostitos with Pace picante sauce as dip. Charged 2.00 for a tiny container of guacamole. This place is terrible.

I have heard about Brewery Bar II for years, but this was my first visit, and it was to the Brewery Bar III down by Park Meadows. I was super excited to try it since everyone raves about it. To start the chips and salsa were pretty good! I love a good salsa, especially with a big ole cold beer. Good start! I ordered the #1 combination because it claims to be one of the cities best chili rellano's, and I LOVE a good crispy rellano! While waiting on dinner, I was able to get a good look at the restaurant. It is a very dark restaurant and honestly could use a little updating. It was rainy out, so maybe that contributed towards the gloomy atmosphere. The food was quite good however, so that made up for the appearances. The green chili (I did the half and half) was very good, and the rellano, while maybe not the "Best in the City", was pretty tasty. It was a little on the "heavy" side, meaning there was a lot of bread to it, but I still enjoyed it. Big portions! I had a nice lunch for the next day too! Yay!!! I will be back!

Here's the thing kids...there's really only one reason to visit this mediocre establishment: chile rellenos. I've had tastes of other food that is well, not good. True, the chips are Tostitos, the salsa appears to be Pace or some other finely jarred salsa. The rellenos are pretty tasty however, so I'll give a rating of 3 stars only for rellenos. If you go and get something different, that's your fault. Service is fine, atmosphere reminds me of a VFW with sports stuff hanging on the wall.

By far the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I can't believe this place survives in Colorado. There are two things that are at the top of my list when rating a Mexican restaurant. 1. Are the margaritas good? 2. Are the chips and salsa good? Brewery Bar III failed miserably on both measures. 1. The margaritas were nasty. I love mine on the rocks with salt. Can you believe they actually used TABLE SALT to rim the glass? Table salt...yeah...believe it. I think I've had better margaritas at Applebees! 2. I think the chips and salsa came straight from King Soopers. I'm pretty sure they were Tostitos Small Rounds chips and El Paso salsa. I don't even eat that at home! Why would I eat that at a MEXICAN restaurant? In addition, the food was bland, the place was dirty and dark, tables and chairs were old and wobbly and the service was not good. The best way to describe the feeling of this place when you walk in is "small town VFW". Seriously. I've been to a number of dinky bars in small towns and this place would fit right in.

Ugh. Yuck. Blechem. Bland food. Poor prices. Store bought chips and salsa? Really, Mexican restaurant? Dirty floors, table, and bathroom. Just an unappealing place. You want real good mexican food at resonable prices? Pretty much go anywhere else.

I love this place! I think any review less than four stars is unfair or an anomoly experience. Their strawberry margaritas are soooo yummy! I LOVE their beef and bean burritos with MILD green chili (and yes sour cream as I am not good with the hot stuff). Unlike other green chilis that might be just hot, theirs has a good flavor too. My husband likes the hot green chili but as we have learned its a good idea to ask the staff before ordering how hot the chilis are that day. If they say really hot he orders the half and half. Otherwise WOW! It can be a killer. All in all we love this place and have a must go meal with some great friends at least every three months. If you like good green chili you must check this place out. If you have a less than stellar experience, trust me that is not the norm! Abby

Chili con queso made with movie theater nacho cheese. Sub par house margaritas and cheap (even by Mexican restaurant standards) meat used in the burrito. Also service was slow. Will not repeat.

The rating here pretty much describes my experience here - Meh. Atmosphere - I actually really like the atmosphere. A dive-y bar with lots of tv's. I can dig that. Service - Ok, not terrible, not great. Food - REALLY not good. Not awful, just not good. They are tostitos rounds and Pace sauce, I swear. I was thinking that EXACT thing while I was eating them (I was starving, mind you), the green chili is just ok, as were the beans, and the relleno, and the enchilada. Prices - Major thumbs down. $10 for a combo plate of relleno, enchilada and beans? Seriously? Ugh. Lucky for me it was a work lunch, and the company credit card came out to pay for that one.

The girls are not wearing whore clothes!!!! Food was decent. But I am from LA so it's hard to please me when it comes to Mexican food. Our waitress was outstanding very nice and punctual. Food came out about 7 minutes after order was taken. Beer was cheap so that's a bonus. Would go back meal for three people all had their own meals and 1 beer a piece. Total bill was $34.

I would agree with most of the reviews. Very nice staff. However, the red chili tasted like marinara. Overall, not great food. I will not return.

Good place to grab a beer or margarita & have some bar food. No... It's not a brewery & the food probably isn't 'free range' either. But it is old fashioned Colorado Mexican bar food & the staff is always friendly & attentive. It's kind of like a bad relationship-not that great but you keep coming back for more... Oh. & there is free wifi.

i read the past reviews for this place and those kept me away for the most part. Until this morning... I woke up with a something in my head jacking with me. i don't to call it a cold, because that will be an admission of defeat. But lets just say that I'm not running at 100%. Now to cure myself, this is how i self medicate: a gaggle of vitamins, c, and b complex. a shot of tequila to help me sleep and a few days of something spicy to burn the bastard out. I took the vitamins this morning, I'll take the shot before bed and now someplace for something spicy..... I ask around the office, this place is a favorite of one of my peers so why not give it a try. (He lets me in on a secret....ask them how hot the chili is today, its what the cool kids do...) calling in, I order bean burrito and when it comes to the chili selection (hot, medium or 1/2 and 1/2) i drop the bomb...."Um..how hot is hot today?" Adam (bartender) whispers, almost knowingly..."u know i didn't try hot this morning...hold on (muffled: how hot is hot? chick in background: not hot!) Adam: Its not hot at all. me: cool, toss a chopped pepper on it please and give me the hot. Adam: cool. I pick the bad boy up, its all ready for me when i walk in, but not been waiting so long the bag is wet. pay up my 5.88 and bounce out the door. Enough w the bool shittin, I get to my desk and dive into it all. the beans were home made, but could use a shot of salt. Apparently add a chopped jalapeno means add 3 coarsely chopped...and they weren't very spicy. not the restaurants fault directly, and not a negative to the review. The Chili....more like New Mexico chili stew...chunks of pork butt, pureed tomato, peppers and a hint of turmeric and cumin. Overall, not bad chili. It effectively cleared my sinus'. I'd rate the place a solid 2.5 stars. I'd be back if a hankering for chili comes up. IDK what happened to the other reviewers, maybe I missed something. Word.

Now we know where all the Taco Bell kitchen staff moves on to. NOT IMPRESSIVE in the least bit. There are many MANY other better alternatives in Denver. This might impress an out of town visitor from Iowa perhaps (whose only exposure to Mexican cuisine came through a drive thu -- WOW, again, another Taco Bell slam, I know). I think the sum result of the food quality here is what you get when an Americano-Walmarter-NASCAR-type attempts to make Mexican food... like a third tier Paula Deen or something along those lines. The part of my brain that made the poor decision to try this place is literally commanding me to pound my head against a wall... RINSE... LATHER... REPEAT... RINSE...LATHER...REPEAT...

I should have know it was going to be bad when I order a Tacate and is doesn't come with lime, or salt on the rim of the glass (not a frosted or even semi-cold glass). I'm not a beer snob, but when I go to a Mexican restaurant with the name brewery in the title, you might expect to be served a beer properly. The service was bad, the food was bad. When our waitress came back about 30 minutes after the beer incident, I filled out a 'build your own' form out of fear she wouldn't return again and extreme hunger. Yes, there were Tostitos chips and a sort of decent salsa but other hungry people were scarfing those down. My burrito came, not smothered but everything on the side. It was on par with cafeteria food, actually worse. The entire time I kept thinking this is what Mexican food in the "burbs" has come to and it made me sad. I ordered mild green chili because I'm a wimp but honestly, this 'whedda' could make a spicier green chili. I won't return, even if someone else is paying.

I've been here one time, and it was fantastic. Who cares if the chips are Tostitos and the salsa is Pace? Tostitos and Pace are delish. I also had the cheese dip, which was yummy. The margaritas were very strong and tasty--and a great value at $4 for happy hour. Plus, the bartender was super-hot. If you want a real Mexican experience, why would you even go to a place called "Brewery Bar?" Common sense, people.

Horrible food. This restaurant has no idea what it wants to do. It's part bar, part Mexican and part American but all gross food. The chips were stale and you could tell just store bought, the salsa was bland and equally as disappointing. Both of the authentic Mexican dishes we ordered were hardly up to par ! Ugh! Def won't be back! But if you do have the urge to waste your time at a bad restaurant ask for Emily! She was sweet and pleasant!!!

It's like a hole in the wall but the only place to go for Mexican in some rural farm town in Minnesota. I should know. Slammed on a Friday night, we dropped by here on a whim. The waitress was a little miffed (or so she appeared) when we weren't ready to order within mere seconds of being seated. The tostidos chips and more liquidity than tomato juice salsa were almost funny and not tasty. We noshed cuz our bellies were saying "Feed Me". Bean tostada...ick. Chicken taco... OMG.. DO NO ORDER. Whiter than Michael Jackson's remaining glove and probably the same amount a flavor. Yuck. 2 stars based on the chili relleno. Voted Best in Denver. It's darn tasty and oh so guilty. The mild was just right for my taste buds. After tasting the boy's Hot, I was reaching for my water in a snap. I may come back to try a stuffed relleno and try a Marg, but this place is not where I'll home to when I crave Mexican

A friend and I went to BBIII for lunch on a Friday for lunch. We were told the wait would be 20 minutes so we decided to sit at the bar. The server seemed slammed but was very nice and served us two strawberry margs very quickly. While he was busy preparing drinks for the rest of the restaurant we looked over the menu. They offer quite a few choices, but it wasn't as overwhelming as other restaurants. We settled on a smothered chicken burrito and a smothered chili relleno. Both were really tasty and satisfying. We went with mild green chili for the topping. On certain days I might be able to take the hot but today I was happy to have ordered mild. The chicken in the burrito was highquality--not the trimmings off of the other parts. There wasn't too much cheese, basically it was just right. The marg did the trick and I am much happier sitting at my desk counting down the hours until 5:00. We've decided we'll make it a monthly dining experience to improve our moods. It wasn't the best food I've ever had but it did the job of filling me up and the server was fun once he wasn't slammed.

Chips are store bought, not made fresh. Food is not fresh and has no flavor. This place is just not good, don't spend your money, find another place.

Hands down the worst Mexican food in town. The chips and salsa are tostitos chips warmed up in the microwave....please! Just abysmal! Go up the street to Los Arcos for better Mexican food.

We will never go back to Brewery Bar - they scammed us on our ticket and we waited over an hour for our food. Horrible service and the quality of food has gone downhill. We used to go here a lot in the summer and sit on the patio - NEVER again!!! HORRIBLE and too top it off they are GREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing good about this place was the service. The salsa looked and tasted like ketchup. The green chile was red and also tasted like ketchup. I had a steak burrito, the steak was OK, a little chewy and cut into strips too long to be in a burrito but it wasn't the worst I ever had yet, still far from good. The hostess and server I had were fine and I have no complaints about the service. That said, the food was so bad I will most likely never go back. Also, I don't think it's like they had an off day, this is just what they feel is competent mexican food. After reading other reviews I would have to agree that the cheese is bad Kraft or Velveeta-like and the chips most definitely are something along the lines of Tostitos. For all of the people who think this place is great they probably also like Casa Bonita's as Brewery Bar III is just slightly better.

  • Michael S.

So, its Colorado Mexican....get over it....the chilli is awesome....and the rellenos world famous!! My favorite if you want to give them a try and not spend much...the Deluxe Chicken or Shredded beef Tostada.....its has the essence of BB!!! It's really just a sports bar....but a nice one and in Park Meadows....

Seriously, can we get a countdown clock going until this place goes out of business? There was no one there at 7:00pm on a Saturday evening when my family and I had dinner. That was the first sign, but no one else got the hint. Then, the Tostitos and Pace picante sauce. Is this part of the cult following or a pre-dinner hazing? My burrito was worse than a tv dinner version. Go to Salsa Brava down the street or yes, even Taco Bell.

Came recommend by near by hotel I was staying at and boy what a disappointment. 1) Our server Brittany seemed to be bothered by the fact that there were customers in her dining room and was doing everything in her power to let you know that it was unacceptable. 2) My draft was flat and when I informed said server she askes if I wanted another (of the same). I asked for somthing different and had to stare at the flat one until I left. 3) The food......terrible absolutely.....terrible!! Only recommendation I can give is stay away, I should have read the reviews before I went. I also told the hotel that they should probably not steer there guests to darken there door way.

I am far from a Mexican food snob. I like it all, whether it come to me via the drive through, a food truck, a local family eatery or a fancy-pants Mexican-something hybrid restaurant. If it has the word "taco" on the menu, I'm there. I realize that not everyone feels this way, and some individuals have very specific, likely regional, ideas of what Mexican food should be. Not me. I like it all. Brewery Bar III is a pretty solid Mexican restaurant if you want a combo plate of tasty food and beans, all smothered in cheese and sauce. At least that's what I come here for most of the time. By the time I get my plate I can hardly tell what's a burrito and what's an enchilada since it's all just covered and smothered in deliciousness, but sometimes that's exactly what you need. It's Mexican comfort food. This is also a great place to visit during a Sunday Denver Bronco's game. They always have the games on, the sound up, and drink specials to boot. Go Broncos!

Pretty much the worst "Mexican" food you can get. It's hard to mess up on Mexican food and they seemed to master that. Read the other reviews and find yourself something else..like a Taco Bell right down the street.

  • Mike R.

I would like to start this review by letting you know that I didn't have high expectations coming in, so to still be disappointed is pretty impressive. If you like waiting an obscene amount of time for food that tastes more bland than your awful long distance families holiday dinner, but still want all the stomach effects you normally get from Mexican food, this place is for you. I'm fairly confident the chips are Tostitos, which was honestly the best part. I went simple just ordering tacos. I was sold into getting the larger tacos that when they showed up were just a giant disappointing site. I originally asked how much bigger they were which was greatly under exaggerated. I made a comment about them along the lines of wow these are huge, to where the waitress challenged my masculinity saying she could finish them and then proceeded to call me something extremely inappropriate. It was something along the lines of but not exactly "dick sticks" I took a couple bites of my flavorless tacos before sucking down my overpriced and over sweetened margarita. $48 for a pitcher...sounds fair. I would have given this place one star, but my friend liked their green chili. So there you go! Enjoy a nice bowl of green chili...as long as you have a couple hours to kill

When here for lunch today with a couple of my coworkers. Service gets a 2, ambience gets a 2, but the food gets a 4 thus giving it a three overall rating. The chili rellaños are amazing and the green chili is extremely good great little Mexican restaurant without feeling like you're in a Mexican restaurant

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
